Pewter Foil Uses:

Primarily decorative, artistic uses.

Pewter Metal Foil Properties:

Modern Pewter is a least 90 per cent tin with no lead. Because tin is a very soft metal, alloying it with other metals makes it practical for detailed metalwork. As well as tin, pewter also contains small amounts of antimony and copper.

Antimony is alloyed with tin to improve its hardness and strength so it doesn’t easily crack or brake when it is hammered or formed.

Copper makes the overall alloy more malleable and ductile. Because of pewter's malleability it allows it to be crafted into shapes by several methods including embossing, forming, fabrication and being hammered into intricate shapes.
